In order to assess what compensations the student is making they are making, their current equipment is evaluated on a lie board. A piece of tape is placed upon the sole of the club. This tape, when the club is hit from the lie board will show a mark. This mark correlates to one of 27 categorized marks that tells the HG Certified Teacher what is happening when contact is made with the ball.
